New at Kroon for fall ‘17, an exciting collection of active-inspired tailored clothing that looks as great as it performs. “What we’ve learned since we launched Kroon nine years ago,” says president Jeffrey Ammeen, “is that millennials don’t want to be billboards for a single designer or brand. They mix, match and create their own looks with special pieces.”
The special pieces in Kroon’s innovative collection are part of a new concept called AIM— Active Inspired Movement. It’s a hybrid between tailored and sportswear with the comfort and ease of activewear. “Performance fabrics have been around for a while,” Ammeen acknowledges, “but with AIM, the entire garment has been reengineered. We design our own shoulder pads, top quality lightweight interlinings, and linings that are both stretchable and breathable. We use rubberized buttons and plenty of functional zippers and pockets, with waistbands on suit pants that flex as well. We use double faced technical fabrics like flannel that reverses to water-repellent wool. All of the AIM fabric has stretch or natural stretch capabilities.”
Based on early retailer response, Ammeen predicts AIM will be a home run. “I wore one the other night to a bar and felt like I was in my loungewear. The next day, wearing a regular suit, I felt like I was in a straightjacket.”
Suggested retails on this “no-restraint” clothing is $395-$695 for sportcoats; $695-$895 for suits. Check it out at Kroon’s NYC showroom and at Project Vegas.
